Enrico Letta on Saturday formally accepted the job of Italy prime minister and submitted his cabinet list to President Giorgio Napolitano, APA reports.
The new government, which is expected to enjoy cross-party support, was due to be sworn in at 11:30 am Sunday, with parliamentary votes of confidence due to start early next week.
Enrico Letta unveiled a government line-up Saturday, ending a two-month deadlock that saw former premier Silvio Berlusconi reassert his status as a key player and tested the patience of Rome's European partners.
Angelino Alfano, from Berlusconi's party, was handed the deputy prime minister post and interior portfolio, while former EU commissioner Emma Bonino was made foreign minister, Letta said.
