Turkey and Georgia consider the possibility of opening a new checkpoint to facilitate mobility.

The relationship between Turkey and Georgia can be considered ideal despite the existing problems in the region, the Georgian President has said.
“Turkey and Georgia are now considering the possibility of opening a checkpoint to facilitate mobility,” the Turkish TV channel TRT Нaber has quoted Mikheil Saakashvili as telling reporters.
At a news conference held jointly with Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan the Georgian also addressed the construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, considering it a key project for the South Caucasus region.
Since January 2011, Turkey has topped the lest of Georgia’s trade partners, according to the country’s National Statistics Offiice.
In the reporting period, the product turnover between the two countries was $671.4 million, 35% more compared to the previous year.
