Global warming a threat to biodiversity - British researchers
By Gagik Shamshyan
About a third of the animals that live on land, and more than half of the plant species may be threatened by diminishing numbers due to global warming.
According to a publication by British researchers in the journal Nature, if by the end of this century, the average global temperature rises by 4 degrees, it will cause tremendous damage to the biological diversity of the planet.
According to them, the most noticeable of these changes can be expected in central Africa, the Amazon basin and in Australia.
The study analyzed almost 50,000 different species of plants and animals.
