Acquisition of military equipment from Russia dropped from 96 percent to less than 10 percent: Secretary of Security Council
ՔաղաքականAs a CSTO member, Russia should clarify its position. Our discussion with the CSTO in the last period, at least since May 2021, was that we claimed that Armenia has a border with Azerbaijan, the CSTO claimed that it does not, and did not recognize, and did not even condemn the occupation of the territory of Armenia. I would say that here there is a greater need for Russia, as a member of the CSTO, to clarify its positions towards Armenia, not Armenia," Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan said during a briefing with journalists in the Parliament, referring to Lavrov's statement that Armenia should decide on its status in the CSTO.
As for the policy conducted by Armenia, according to Armen Grigoryan, Armenia is conducting a policy of diversification.
"The acquisition of military equipment, for example, from 96 percent with Russia has dropped to less than 10 percent, and this means that Armenia is diversifying, and Armenia is acquiring partners not only in the West, but also in other places, in Asia, India," he said and added that it is about both economic and security relations.
"Armenia is not going anywhere. Armenia also pursues a regionalization policy, has good relations with the West, tries to build good relations with all neighbors, to build relations with Turkey, Azerbaijan, and this is our agenda. And when they say to make it clear, everything is clear," he said.
