The celebration of “Erebuni-Yerevan 2797” stands out with unprecedented social action: about 30 flats have been granted to the families of azatamartiks

Prior to “Erebuni-Yerevan 2797” celebration Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan, in accordance with the decision of the Council of Elders of Yerevan handed the keys to the flats to the representatives of 30 families of azatamartiks fallen or injured in Artskh war, as well as to the servicemen injured during the defence of homeland borders. The Mayor handed the keys of the new flats the modern Armenian writer, poet,playwright Vahram Sahakyan, to the RA Honorary Culture Worker, the member of the Union of Journalists Zara Aramyan, to the singer, composer, the RA Honorary Artist David Amalyan and to the soloist of the National Academic Theater of Opera ad Ballet after A. Spendiaryan Berj Qarazyan.
Greeting and congratulating the owners of the new flats Mayor Taron Margaryan wished them happiness and new achievements in their new homes.
“Today, as the Mayor of Yerevan, I am doing my most pleasant duty giving the keys of so long-expected flats to you. Let your homes become new Armenian hearths bringing joy and happiness to you and your children.It’s symbolic that you are receiving your new flats on the birthday of our capital as I am sure you will take the warmth and kindness of our capital with you to your new homes and from your homes it will spread again in the wonderful atmosphere of Yerevan”, said the Mayor.
Expressing gratitude for the action and so long-expected solution of their problem, the families included in the program added that having home is the most necessary thing for every family.
Answering the questions of the journalists Mayor Taron Margaryan pointed out that the problems of the families of the fallen and injured azatamartiks have always been in the center of Municipality attention, and expressed confidence that all the projects aimed at the improvement of their social conditions will be long-term.
“This is the first them the Municipality has had the opportunity to implement such a large-scale support. I hope that this way we will start a wonderful tradition and try to do such pleasant presents to our azatamartiks and their families every year. We have already formed a similar tradition regarding our young families, families with many children and families of art workers. This attitude will be long-term too, and God grant, we will have the opportunity to increase the list of those who will be granted new flats including in this list our respected teachers, scientists, other worthy representatives of the sphere of health care and others”, said the Mayor adding that these days new flats are also granted to the residents of the buildings with 4th grade of accident rate, and by the end of the year all of them will be resettled in new flats.
Referring to the social program being implemented within the frames of ”Erebuni-Yerevan” 2797 celebration the Mayor outlined granting household appliances to 2797 families included in various social groups, as well as the opportunity for the parents of the fixed-period servicemen from Yerevan to visit their sons serving in the army in frontier zones and Artsakh.
“We try to do our best not only to provide high mood for our residents, but to make this celebration unforgettable and special for some of them. I am sure that together with other residents you will participate in the celebration and enjoy it. I think that on these days we had better put aside our everyday problems and enjoy the holiday of our warm and kind city. Yerevan deserves having its own holiday and the right to make its population happy on this day”, stressed the Mayor.
